What’s Top Dead Center?

Top dead center (TDC) is where it starts. When the piston is at its highest point in the cylinder of an internal combustion engine, it’s ‘at top dead center’. From here you can synchronize timing and other systems to do what they’re supposed to do, when they’re supposed to do it. It’s a constant, the beginning state for tuning and troubleshooting.

Without being synchronized, you’ll never get anything done.

It’s a little corny, but that’s what we’re after with the Top Dead Center space: finding the best place to start. There’s a lot going on in the motoring world - certainly in Seattle. Our goal is to bring communities together that appreciate the spirit and history of motorsports - whether it’s cafe racing, MotoGP, Formula One or just the joie de vivre of riding (and good coffee).

At Top Dead Center riding, wrenching, collecting and eating all come together - and everyone is welcome.
